We visited the Icelandic Phallological Museum (I will spare you the majority of the pictures but I had to post to largest specimen...a Sperm Whale penis).
Then, we went to the Reykjavik Museum of Photography. So far, this was the only disappointing moment. The photographs were beautiful but it was basically just one large room for $20 admission (that's for 2 adults).
Then we walked around town, which the town is super cool.
Then we had yummy lunch. Mike and I each the "Lamb Sandwich" and Michael had a burger. It was the best lamb I have ever had, hands down! It was slow cooked, so it was super tender. It was an expensive lunch...again. Around $78. The alcohol is crazy expensive. On the draft beer photo, move the decimal point one place to the right and that is how much a draft is! Needless to say, that is too pricey for our blood.
And then, the highlight of the trip so far (as of yesterday, anyway).... THE BLUE LAGOON! It was seriously amazing and totally worth the money ($140 for Mike and I and Michael was free). We spent 4 hours in the water! The next time you are flying to Europe, you need to fly Icelandair and do a night or more free stopover here just to go to the Blue Lagoon. It's not far from the airport, so if your layover is several hours long, it would be doable. But a weekend (or a week!) stopover is even better.
Mike has TONS of photos of us in the lagoon on our waterproof camera (yes, we have a waterproof camera. We basically have a camera for every occasion). Once he gets everything downloaded, I'll post some of his photos too (which will will be way better than mine, no doubt!).
Mike secretly droning the Blue Lagoon when he probably wasn't supposed to. In his defense, it was closed and no one was in it at this time. And, it's just before midnight in these pics. It never gets dark here this time of year.
FROM MICHAEL:
The Blue Lagoon was cool, I guess. The end.
(Don't let him fool you...he thought it was awesome. He has talked about it all day!)
FROM MIKE:
We ate a lamb. Expensive lamb.
MY RANDOM THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY:
It is really hard to fall asleep when it never gets dark.
How am I sunburned when we haven't seen the sun yet?!
I could live in the Blue Lagoon...it was incredible, even though it's a tourist attraction.
