Days 6 & 7: Los Angeles, California

Friday, November 17, 2017: Hollywood

Passed this driving into Hollywood.

We walked the VERY LONG Hollywood Walk of Fame (at least, some of it).

Tom Hanks is Michael's favorite actor.

The Chinese Theater

Saturday, November 18, 2017: Beverly Hills

We visited the Petersen Automotive Museum. We did the Vault tour but no photography was allowed down there due to security reasons. These are some of the cars in the main exhibits at the moment.

Michael's dream is to see a Bugatti Chiron in person. We thought one was on display at the Peteresen Automotive Museum in their "The Art of Bugatti" exhibit. Apparently, it used to be but Bugatti asked for their Chiron and Veyron back, so no luck there. Mike found the Bugatti of Beverly Hills dealer just up the road, so we stopped in. While one person said hello, not a single salesperson approached us the whole time we were there. Gee, I wonder what gave away the fact that we do not have 3+ million dollars to spend on a Bugatti at the moment?! We also got to see Rolls Royces and I sat in a BENTLEY!

Then we strolled Rodeo Drive.

Got some lunch and sat by the window so Michael could watch all the luxury and sports cars drive up and down Beverly Drive.

We drove up into the Hollywood Hills to get a great view of the Hollywood sign.

This was the sign outside of the children's playground at the Hollywood park.

FROM MICHAEL:

I don't know what to put in these things anymore so...... I LIKE DUCKS. Also, I saw a Bugatti.

FROM MIKE:

Grand Theft Auto V isn't realistic and nopeity nope nope nope.

MY RANDOM THOUGHTS:

I love L.A. I could live here. Mike would never. The traffic does suck. I LOVE movies and definitely missed my calling out here. Still smelling pot everywhere except in Beverly Hills. Maybe those people are just more discreet about it? We had the BEST hamburger last night. I miss good food.

Day 5: Nevada

Thursday, November 16, 2017: The Hoover Dam and Las Vegas, NV

We spent some time at the Hoover Dam on our way to Las Vegas. It is always an impressive sight. It was a first for Mike and Michael.

Michael befriending random dogs has always been a thing. This was Banjo. Banjo just sat down and snuggled up with Michael. Even the owners were surprised.

FROM MICHAEL:

I didn't like Vegas. The Hoover Dam was smaller than I thought it would be.

FROM MIKE:

I didn't buy a Leica.

MY RANDOM THOUGHTS:

We stayed at Circus Circus and it was a bust. At least it was inexpensive. I really enjoyed the Hoover Dam. Vegas has lost some of it's appeal for me since my last visit 12 or so years ago, but I'm still glad Michael got to see all the lights at night, even if he didn't really like Vegas.
